Frits-Scaping is applying coloured crushed glass to a flat glass surface to create images of still life, landscapes or abstracts. The completed image is melted in a kiln to fuse the glass.
Frit-scaped artworks can be both functional and decorative. It’s a perfect craft to add waterproof and light-proof colour splashes to your home.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about the properties of glass and how to use a kiln to fuse the glass. You’ll be guided through the techniques of frit-scaping to create images for two planter spikes and one postcard-sized image.
